Who We Are
The Principal Attorney of the Perman Law Firm is Naomi E. Perman, who has over 10 years of experience
in immigration law. She is a graduate of William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul and
of the University of Michigan. In August of 1996, she established her own practice
in St. Paul and has developed a large and loyal client base. Ms. Perman attributes her
success to careful case management, strong rapport with decision makers and clients,
and the fact that she loves her work.
Naomi E. Perman has been nominated as a "Super Lawyer" in the field of
immigration law, an honor limited to the top 5 percent of lawyers practicing
in Minnesota. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers
Association and has served as the liaison to the local USCIS Office. In
addition, Ms. Perman frequently shares her expertise in immigration law at
Continuing Legal Education programs and advises colleges and universities
on matters related to international students and faculty members.
The Perman Law Firm is also supported by its paralegal, Lucas J. Peterson, who has an
Associate's Degree from North Hennepin Community College along with a Bachelor's degree
in Legal Studies from Hamline University. While a student, he completed internships with
a criminal defense attorney, the Tenth Judicial District's Public Defender's office,
and a District Court Judge in Anoka County.
Prior to joining the Perman Law Firm, Mr. Peterson provided paralegal support during his
internships in the areas of criminal and business law, civil litigation, and electronic
discovery. As well, he stays current with the constant changes in the field of immigration
law by attending immigration seminars sponsored by the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
Outside of work, Mr. Peterson volunteers in political organizations and with
Guitars for Vets - an organization dedicated to the healing power of music focusing on caring
for our nation's Veterans.
